We had an amazing time at our first community meal distribution! Our team worked together to prepare and serve warm meals while building meaningful connections with community members. It was a rewarding experience filled with kindness, conversation, and shared moments. We look forward to creating more memories and making a positive impact as we continue pursuing our mission.
At our second community meal distribution, we had the privilege of connecting with refugee families and community members through food, conversation, and friendship. Each gathering reminds us of the importance of creating a welcoming space where everyone feels supported and valued. We are excited to continue building relationships and helping families thrive in their new communities.
We had an incredible time partnering with a local nonprofit to support families as they build new lives in their communities. Through activities, games, and meaningful interactions with children, our team had the opportunity to create a welcoming and encouraging environment. Experiences like these remind us of the importance of friendship, belonging, and community support for families navigating new beginnings.
Even with the rain, our third community meal distribution was a meaningful reminder of the power of community. By sharing warm meals and building connections with refugee families, we continued our mission of creating a sense of belonging, support, and friendship. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this event a success.
Community generosity can make a lasting difference. Our team spent time sorting donated furniture, clothing, and essential household items for refugee families as they settle into new surroundings. We are grateful to everyone who contributed and helped us provide resources, dignity, and encouragement to families embarking on a new beginning.
Our Social Media Coordinator, Katie, spent time at the Chinatown Recycling Center in Manhattan collecting recyclable items as part of a fundraising initiative. Through these efforts, we are able to raise support and provide much needed donations to refugee families in our community.
Jian collected and donated over 500 books last summer to different charities across New York. She created an initiative within her building to encourage her fellow residents to donate any books to help support literacy and accessibility to reading.
We’re excited to introduce our new team member, Jiyeon, who is joining Jian and Table & Table in leading book collection and donation efforts!
Jian has been regularly organizing book drives and has donated 250+ books internationally and regionally, partnering with organizations such as Hana Mission, Little Free Libraries, and the Lebanon Dream Center.
On August 9, Jiyeon partnered with Jian and Table & Table’s Outreach Director to collect, clean, and organize 100 books for donation with our team. As the Youth Representative at the Lebanon Dream Center in Lebanon, Jiyeon will be bringing these books to Lebanon and distributing them during her upcoming trip.
We are honored to have Jiyeon join us and to continue this meaningful commitment together, connecting communities through the gift of books.
